Champaign-
While UIUC is mainly what brings many people to the area, Champaign has so much to offer off campus, as well.
Visit downtown Champaign for a wide array of bars, cafes, bistros, and shops. Cafe Kopi, Pekara, and Aroma Cafe have delicious coffee and baked goods. Grab a bite from one of the excellent restaurants downtown. Pizzeria Antica, Kofusion, Hamilton Walters, Miga, and DESTIHL are just a few of the highly rated dining experiences in Champaign. For drinks and nightlife, try Barrelhouse 34, Cowboy Monkey, or The Blind Pig Brewery. If you're in the mood for a show, check out the historic Virginia Theatre. Find hidden treasures at local stores like Jane Adams Bookstore, Exile on Main St., and Ten Thousand Villages. Taking a stroll around the beautiful West Side Park, just a block away from the center of downtown, is another great way to spend some time in Champaign.
Travel to north Champaign for movies at AMC, shopping at Market Place, events at Parkland College, and even more restaurants!

Urbana-
The western part of UIUC marks the transition from Champaign to Urbana. Though Champaign and Urbana are often thought of synonymously, Urbana has its own unique vibe. Here you'll find more vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options at places like Dancing Dog and The Red Herring. In downtown Urbana, nights are filled with the sounds of live music coming from Main and Race Street from places like BlackBird, Sipyard, Crane Alley, and Iron Post. Shop for specialty items, art, and food at locally owned shops downtown or at Lincoln Square Mall. Venture out to Meadowbrook Park where you can find sculptures and wide open prairie, or spend an afternoon climbing at Urbana Boulders.
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign-
UIUC is like its own city within Champaign-Urbana. Campus is constantly changing and growing, and there is always something do here, whether it's seeing an Illini game, hanging out on Green St., walking through the beautiful quads or Japanese Gardens, or discovering something new at the Spurlock or Krannert Art Museum.
Green St. is home to many of campus-town's favorite places to eat and drink. Try Sakanaya, Cracked, Mia Za's, or Maize for amazing meals. Grab a drink and hang out at the Illini Inn, Red Lion, Legends, or Brothers.
Coffee is in no short supply here with cafes open all over campus. Sip some coffee at Espresso Royale, Caffe Bene, Caffe Paradiso, or Brew Lab. Curb a sweet tooth at the two story fro-yo place, Cocomero, or catch the Pandamonium Doughnuts food truck, which often makes a stop on campus. You can't go wrong here!
Throughout the year there are countless events to go to on campus from games at Memorial Stadium, concerts at State Farm Center, to the opera and the fine arts at Krannert. There is something for everyone!
